Description:
The Web Designer is responsible for the look, feel, user experience, and functionality of a commercial website. This role includes creating internal company web pages, including graphics, animation, and functionality. Assignments are varied and require independent judgment and the ability to determine the appropriate course of action.
Key responsibilities include reviewing the existing website and leading a comprehensive redesign to improve the overall user experience. The Web Designer will conduct focus groups or interviews with heavy users to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement. Based on research and findings, the Web Designer will present recommendations to leadership and secure buy-in for proposed changes.
The Web Designer will design web page layouts and online content, user interface graphics, icons, color schemes, content, and infrastructure for new product releases and web-hosted offerings. The role involves building out all mockups and finalized designs in Figma, ensuring artifacts are structured for collaboration and future use by other team members.
The individual is expected to understand organizational strategy and objectives and align their work accordingly, making decisions with minimal supervision and following established guidelines and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Experience as a User Designer, Interaction Designer, or User Experience Designer/Architect
Strong understanding of interaction design principles and current global UI/design pattern standards
Experience designing websites and UIs for applications, incorporating business, technical, and design guideline constraints
Demonstrated experience in reviewing and redesigning websites to improve user experience
Proven ability to conduct user research, including focus groups or interviews, and translate findings into actionable design decisions
Experience building interactive prototypes and finalized mockups in Figma, with artifacts suitable for team collaboration and reuse
Ability to present recommendations to leadership and gain buy-in
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Ability to be flexible in a very fluid and dynamic environment
Must be extremely well-organized and capable of handling multiple (and sometimes conflicting) priorities effectively
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
