Job Purpose

The Lowboy Truck Driver is responsible for operating a truck & trailer for transportation of construction material and equipment.

In this position, the Driver will load construction equipment (may include but are not limited to front end loader, crusher equipment, fuel tanks, dozer, excavator, oversized loads) onto trailer and transport to various construction sites. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucks.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Keeps record of materials and products transported.
• Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle.
• Operates equipment on vehicle to unload equipment or materials.
• Operational knowledge and skills of trucks and related equipment to be operated.
• Assists in loading and unloading truck equipment or materials.
• Willingly attend and support Foremen/Superintendents during morning huddles and toolbox talks.
• Actively promote and willingly support a safety conscious culture. Follow all safety regulations and company policies. Take a proactive approach to avoiding potential hazards such as hitting other vehicles, other equipment, coworkers and falling objects. Active participation in proactive safety programs to assist with reducing the experience modification factor. Take the initiative to mentor all new hires in your department. Willing participant in safety-related training programs to increase skill set and knowledge base.
• Other duties as assigned.

Certificates and /or Licenses

• Valid Class A CDL
• Able to pass a DOT physical.
• Clean Driving Record
• Endorsements: Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement a plus, but not required.

Education & Experience

High School graduate which may be substituted with specific work-related experience.
