Job Description

The Registered Nurse creates & develops patient care plans to direct the safe and appropriate administration of medication in the home or alternate site setting. Working with Home Infusion staff the Registered Nurse helps identify patients capable of successful self-administration, educates patients & caregivers on proper administration techniques & methods, coordinates discharge activities, administers or supervises administration of medication, provides IV site dressing care and phlebotomy services as ordered. Primary responsibilities include practicing in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations, assessing patient needs and capabilities, providing education to patients and caregivers, collecting necessary authorizations for billing, communicating with discharge teams, managing patient census and scheduling, adhering to medication handling policies, advocating for patient needs, creating patient-specific care plans, maintaining accurate medication lists, creating discharge plans, training and mentoring staff, participating in quality control and performance improvement, and taking part in clinical on-call rotation. Required qualifications include current Massachusetts RN licensure, flexibility with hours, current BLS certification, 2 years infusion experience, and valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Preferred qualifications include CRNI and ACLS certifications. The role requires physical endurance, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and compliance with vaccination requirements.
