HCLTech is looking for a highly talented and self- motivated Embedded Engineer (Android BSP) to join it in advancing the technological world through innovation and creativity.

Role/Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Android BSP components including bootloaders, kernel, device drivers, and HALs.
• Port Android OS to new hardware platforms and ensure stability and performance.
• Work closely with hardware teams to bring up new boards and debug hardware/software issues.
• Customize and optimize Android system images for specific hardware configurations.
• Integrate third-party hardware modules and ensure compatibility with Android.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application developers, QA, and product managers.
• Document technical specifications, design decisions, and development processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development with a focus on Android BSP.
• Strong knowledge of embedded Linux, Android architecture, and system internals.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and shell scripting.
• Experience with U-Boot, Linux kernel, and Android HAL development.
• Familiarity with debugging tools such as JTAG, serial console, and logic analyzers.
• Understanding of hardware interfaces like I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, etc.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $79,000 per year

Pay Range Maximum: $121,000 per year

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year
