Cross-Border Warehouse Operations Manager

Location: 35 Union Avenue, Bridgeport, CT (On-site; no relocation assistance)

Reports to: Plant Manager

A day in the role

Your morning starts with a quick floor walk through the dry, cooler, and freezer areas. You greet your seven-person team—mostly Spanish-speaking—and conduct a bilingual huddle to set priorities. You verify overnight inventory movements in SAP, reconcile pick lists, and confirm outbound truck schedules: full truckloads bound for Vineland, NJ and cross-border shipments into Canada. Before lunch, you finalize customs and export paperwork, review bills of lading, and coordinate with carriers to lock in dock times. In the afternoon, you coach a new team member on safe forklift operation, audit GMP and HACCP checklists, and update SOPs reflecting a new loading sequence. Before you leave, you publish daily KPIs for order accuracy, inventory performance, logistics efficiency, and safety metrics, leaving the team clear on tomorrow’s plan.

What you’ll lead

• Hands-on leadership of a 7-person warehouse team; coach, train, and communicate fluently in Spanish and English.
• Daily shipping/receiving execution with tight controls for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Outbound logistics for full truckloads to multiple destinations, including Vineland, NJ and Canada; schedule loads, prepare docks, and ensure documentation compliance.
• Preparation and management of customs/export documentation for Canadian shipments; coordinate with carriers and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Inventory integrity in SAP ERP and related WMS; reconciliation, cycle counts, and variance resolution.
• Organization and upkeep of dry, cooler, and freezer storage zones.
• Ownership of documentation accuracy: bills of lading, shipping notices, pick lists, packing slips, and export paperwork.
• Safety leadership: maintain forklift certification records, equipment maintenance logs, and promote a strong safety culture.
• Compliance with GMP, OSHA, AIB, and HACCP standards; serve on the Food Safety Team and maintain audit readiness.
• Labor planning, scheduling, overtime management, and ongoing employee development.
• Continuous improvement: update SOPs, streamline processes, and drive measurable KPI gains.

What you bring

• 3–5 years supervising warehouse or shipping/receiving operations, ideally in food manufacturing.
• Proven experience with outbound freight, multi-destination truckload coordination, and cross-border shipments.
• Working knowledge of SAP ERP and warehouse management systems.
• Strong organizer and communicator capable of day-to-day, on-the-floor leadership.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and OSHA standards.
• Fluent bilingual communication in Spanish and English (required).
• Local to Bridgeport or able to commute daily; fully on-site role with no relocation assistance.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, typically 8:00 or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility to start earlier, stay later, or work Saturdays as business requires.
