MaxLite is seeking an Associate, Product Manager to join our c-Max® Lighting Controls team. In this role, you’ll support the strategy and execution behind innovative controls products that integrate seamlessly with MaxLite’s lighting portfolio. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, software, and product development teams to bring new connected devices to market—helping ensure they deliver exceptional performance, reliability, and user experience.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the Product Roadmap: You'll assist in shaping the future of c-Max® by conducting market research, analyzing new technologies, and sharing insights on trends in IoT and smart buildings.
  • Collaborate with Engineering: Work side-by-side with our embedded controls and hardware engineers to define product requirements, translate customer needs into technical specifications, and ensure we're building cutting-edge solutions.
  • Get Hands-On: Dive into product testing and validation. You'll work with our hardware and software, helping to troubleshoot, replicate customer issues, and ensure our products are robust and user-friendly.
  • Support Go-to-Market: Partner with our marketing and sales teams to create technical documentation, training materials, and compelling content that showcases how our products solve real-world problems.
  • Become a Product Expert: Develop a deep understanding of our c-Max® ecosystem and the competitive landscape. You'll become a go-to technical resource for our sales teams and customers.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

What We Look For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. A genuine interest in IoT, embedded systems, smart devices, or automation is essential.
  • 1+ years of relative work experience
  • Hands-on project experience through coursework, internships, or personal projects involving microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi), sensors, or wireless communication protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee) preferred.
  • Naturally curious and inventive, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to translate technical ideas for both engineering and business audiences.
  • Enthusiasm for growing product management and strategic skills within the lighting controls and smart-building sectors.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or JavaScript preferred.
  • Experience with CAD design, 3D printing, or prototyping a plus.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • This is an on-site position required to work out of our Pine Brook, NJ Headquarters, Monday through Friday, 5 days per week
  • Must be able to commute to the work location
  • Must be able to walk, talk, sit, stand, bend, listen, type, read
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
